Introduction
omaha hi/lo is a popular version of omaha. in this game, the highest and lowest hand share the pot. the low hand must have an 8 or better (from 8 down), and it may not have any pairs. you can use different cards for the two hands, and it is possible to win both the tall and the low pot. if there is no low hand as qualified, the high hand wins the entire pot. As in Omaha, you need to use two of the cards you have on hand and three of the cards on the table, but you can use two different cards for your high and low hand.

Start the game
Each player is given four cards with the photo side down, one at a time. The bidding rounds are exactly the same as in Omaha and Hold'em.

Strategy and tips
The low hand must be 8 or better (short from 8 down). The hand with the lowest high card wins. If two or more players have the same highest card win the next lowest high card. It is important that you understand this: The lowest hand is determined by the high cards first. The five examples below show how this principle works.

Plays 1. 8, 6, 4, 2, A plays 2. 7, 6, 4, 3, 2
Player 2 wins, as 7 is the lowest high card.

a straight or flush is not considered a low hand. the only exception is 5, 4, 3, 2, a, which is considered the best low hand. it is also considered a straight for the high hand. thus, you can win both the tall and the low pot with this hand. Omaha Hi/LO requires great skill, so practice before playing properly.

Tips
If there are not at least three common cards from 8 down, it is not possible to make a low hand for any of the players, and then everyone plays about only the high pot.
